“There’s just me, myself, and I.”

OK, maybe not stupid, but a large majority are inconsiderate jackasses.

Last night we went to the Fourth of July celebration in our town.  We arrived around 7:00 p.m. because we wanted to see Brave Combo.  The first thing that annoyed us was the stage setup:  They had placed it right in front of a ditch!  This is a band that prides itself on audience participation, encouraging them to dance right in front of the stage.  There was only about a 10 foot area in front of the stage where it was even possible to dance.  The band noted this in their opening by saying "We have this lovely muddy ditch and sloping hill just perfect for dancing, so come on!"

Thus, the Norman Parks Department are idiots for setting up the stage at that location.

After the concert, we set up to watch the fireworks, along with about 3,000 other people in the park.  We were pretty jazzed when we realized we would be able to hear the accompanying music for the first time (we usually sat further away due to traffic).

But, as I've already said, people in general are inconsiderate jackasses.

As the first shots went up, one guy 10 feet to our 1 o'clock kept taking pictures of his family, pointing his ultra-bright, epileptic seizure inducing flash in our direction.  He didn't do this once, or twice, but many times.  Not only that, but his family was standing up, blocking the view of the low-level display of several folks on the end of our line.  It wasn't until someone at the end got up and walked around behind them saying "I'd love to see the flares but my view is blocked and I'm blinded by flashbulbs."  They moved over about 3 feet for the next 30 seconds, then resumed their position and started flashing again.  The guy's camera must have filled up, as he stopped flashing us 10 minutes into the show.

One minute later, two pubescent males walked right in front of me and my wife, then stopped and yelled for their friend.  We both said "Excuse us, you're blocking our view."

No response.

"Excuse us, could you please move!"

No response.

"Could you please move out of the way!" I yelled.

Dumb looks for 3 seconds.

"You're blocking our view!"

They slowly walked away looking back at us as if WE were the inconsiderate ones.

If the above two examples of inconsiderate jackasses aren't going to watch the fireworks, they should just go the hell home!

I mentioned before that this was the closest we had ever been to the display, mainly due to parking concerns.  We were reminded when we tried to get out of the lot.

We sat in our car without moving at all from our spot for 30 minutes.  I finally got just enough room to turn around, then was cut off by a car full of early 20's douchebags and bimbos, and they gave ME a dirty look.  As we progressed, I allowed people to merge in as I normally do in such situations, until a pubescent female tried to nose her Ricer behind a guy I was letting in.  I promptly cut her off out of principle, to whit she promptly gave me the finger with her hand that wasn't holding a cell phone.

Seriously, too many people are just selfish, inconsiderate jackasses nowadays.
